Technology is rapidly advancing and becoming disruptive considering there are many factors such as the environment that drive it. The transition from 4G to 5G network technology will offer customers great broadband speed (faster downloads and uploads) supporting the Internet of Things (IoT) through allowing connectivity of multiple objects which will propel AI and data science/analytics.

According to the IDC forecast overview report, the merging of traditional technology and emerging new technology continues to grow and leverage on each other driving revenue and optimizing business processes and reduced costs. The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) released an IT Industry outlook report 2020 which recommend building technical and project management skills as a key to growth. Emerging trends such as IoT, blockchain, and AI are some of the areas that youth can gravitate towards building skills and becoming competitive in the market. However, most school and higher education institutions are still struggling to replace the old traditional curriculum with new design to allow creating learning, thinking and collaboration within young people. This challenge can disadvantage young people when transitioning from school to the workplace. Schools need to introduce tech projects are schools and place youth in companies as part of developing their skills. This partnership can be fruitful for all parties including young people.
